Framed Abstract Landscape Painting

A vibrant contemporary abstract landscape painting that beautifully combines expressive brushwork, rich texture, and an unexpected palette of fresh greens, coral, soft blues, and warm neutrals.

Measuring 37-1/2" H x 37-1/2" W, this striking square artwork brings an energetic yet sophisticated presence to an interior.

The composition features an abstract interpretation of a natural landscape, where sweeping passages of chartreuse, olive green, coral, peach, pale blue, and creamy ivory intersect in layers of color and texture. A softly rendered blue-gray sky anchors the upper portion of the painting, while bold, gestural brushstrokes below suggest rolling hills, reflective water, and the changing colors of the natural world.

The artist's expressive application of paint creates a richly textured surface, with visible brushwork and layered passages that lend the composition depth and movement. Particularly beautiful is the contrast between the vivid coral and orange accents and the softer surrounding greens and blues, creating a sense of warmth and luminosity throughout the piece.

Presented in a slim metallic gold-tone floating frame with a contrasting dark inner border, the painting has a clean, gallery-inspired finish that complements its expressive composition.

With its generous square proportions and dynamic color palette, this artwork makes a beautiful statement above a console, fireplace, sofa, or chest. Its balance of abstraction and landscape-inspired elements allows it to transition effortlessly between traditional, transitional, and contemporary interiors.

Why We Love It

We love the unexpected color combinations and expressive movement throughout this painting. The fresh greens, vibrant coral, and soft blue-gray tones create a composition that feels joyful and sophisticated without being overly decorative.

The layered brushwork gives the artwork a beautiful sense of dimension, while the landscape-inspired composition provides a familiar, grounding quality.

Its square format and understated gold-tone frame make it particularly versatile, allowing the painting to function as a statement piece or as part of a thoughtfully collected art arrangement.

Design Notes

This painting would be especially beautiful in an interior layered with French antiques, bleached oak, warm plaster, natural linen, marble, and aged brass.

The combination of greens, coral, and soft blues offers an opportunity to introduce color into an otherwise neutral space. Pair it with ivory upholstery, walnut, chocolate brown, olive velvet, or warm wood finishes to complement the artwork's rich palette.

For a more contemporary setting, allow the painting to serve as the focal point against restrained furnishings and clean architectural lines.

We particularly love the idea of placing this piece above an antique French commode or a modern upholstered sofa, where its expressive colors create an unexpected contrast with more traditional materials.
